The main objective of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is to provide an outstanding academic environment for highly trained future engineers who could successfully perform cutting edge scientific research, be employed in production, management, design and teaching, contribute and be recognized within the national and international engineering community.
Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Programmes:
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate (Master's Degree and other Postgraduate modules) and Doctoral Programmes.
The four-year Undergraduate degree programmes allow students to specialize in Computer Science and Engineering, Automation and Applied Informatics, Applied Electronics, Industrial Energetics, Electrical Systems, Economic Engineering in Electrical, Electronic and Energetic Field (4 yrs.).
We offer two-year Master of Science degree programmes in: Computer Engineering and Process Control; Computer-Aided Visual Art, Design and Advertising Image; Computer Science and Engineering; Modern Systems for Energetic Process Control; Advanced Techniques in Electrical Machines and Drives; Informatics Management in Industry and Administration; Computer Networks; Software Engineering; Advanced Embedded Systems; Computer and Communication Networks.
Our Doctoral degree programmes focus on the following subject areas of electrical engineering: Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, Computer and Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.
We organize four-month Postgraduate training courses in the following subject areas: Computers and PC Applications, Internet Applications Programming, WEB Design, Electrical Energy Balances, Thermal Energy Balances, Power Management, Electrical Machines and Drives, Projects and Human Resources Management, Computers and Desktop Devices Utilization and three-month training courses in PC Utilization and Office Programs, as well as Professional Conversion Courses in Informatics.
Research
The four research centers of our Faculty, all accredited by CNCSIS, promote and disseminate scientific research results:
- CCSC - Research Center in Computer Science
- EMAD - Electrical Machines, Power Apparatus and Drives Research Center
- SISCON - Systems and Processes Control Research Center
Scientific research results are published in Advances in Electrical and Computer Engineering Journal (www.aece.ro), edited by our Faculty, and indexed in ISI Thomson and in other prestigious international databases.

Our Faculty fully supports the students’ participation in various students' national and international scientific events (ACM, Trinity College - USA, TIE, IBM, Siemens VDO, Microsoft Imagine Cup, CSIDC - USA, Best Linux Application).
International Relations and Reputation
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is accredited by the European Federation of National Engineering Associations.
The Faculty staff have concluded collaboration contracts in various domains with 28 universities from England, Canada, China, Belgium, Estonia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine and the USA.
Material Resources
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science provides excellent modern equipment and facilities: two buildings with 40 teaching rooms and research laboratories, 4 lecture halls, 2 seminar rooms, 1 modern conference hall, the Information Technologies and Communication Department, as well as a Multimedia and Computational Linguistics Laboratory. The Electromagnetic Compatibility and High Performance Computing Research Laboratories may be considered the best of the kind in Romania, if one considers the equipment as well as the high performance results.
